Courses for you
BBC gives you a strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through 42 hours of Bible and theology courses. Our required set of General Studies courses supplements that foundation, enabling you to better understand the world in which you will minister. The remaining 33 credit hours are available for creating your specialized program of study.

The following list is a sample of courses available to students in the Specialized Ministries program:

Cross-cultural Communication
Cross-cultural Evangelism
Family Life of the Ministry Leader
Internship
Marriage and Family Dynamics
Missions Seminar
Youth Evangelism
Youth Ministry Strategies

Making the program your own
This program is especially effective for students who wish to prepare for a very specific area of ministry. In the past, students have used the Specialized Ministries program to equip themselves for fields like Cross Cultural Youth Ministry, Youth Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, and Bible Translation.

It is also ideal for students transferring to BBC or seeking degree completion before going on to seminary or graduate school.

Many options after graduation
You will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Specialized Ministries. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Specialized Ministries. You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.

Concentrated classroom instruction, faculty mentorship, internship opportunities, and hands-on ministry experience will qualify you for a wide range of post-graduate possibilities. You will also be well-prepared for seminary and graduate school programs.

No matter what concentration you choose, you will be ready to step into a full-time ministry role upon graduation. Past graduates are now serving the Lord as missionaries, pastors, and in other full-time positions.

What they say
“Choosing the Specialized Ministries concentration allowed me to develop a program that best fit God’s ministry calling on my life. The faculty developed my abilities and challenged me. I saw firsthand how they care for their students and equip them to succeed in ministry. My internship was a life changing experience. I was able to put what I learned in the classroom to use on the field. I learned so much.”
- Leah Franklin Conner, BBC graduate

“Through the Specialized Ministries program, I was able to be greatly involved in a local church and get credits for the work that I did. The program allowed me to study with a professor to hone my skills and also work alongside a pastor to learn what takes place in the local church.”
- Phil Maxwell, BBC graduate, Lead Pastor, First Baptist Church, St. Louis, MI
