As Christians, we recognize that God created human beings to glorify Him in every way. Building healthy bodies is important – for our mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual well-being.

Our Health and Physical Education program prepares you for a career of teaching others how to be proper stewards of the bodies God has entrusted to them. This program will stretch you mentally and help you improve your own physical abilities, all while training you to meet the mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual needs of others.

Making the program your own
You will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Health and Physical Education. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Education. You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.

You can choose to focus on your areas of strongest interest. The range of classes and expertise at BBC makes this possible, providing you the greatest preparation toward your desired post-graduate pursuit.

Many options after graduation
The Health and Physical Education program encompasses grades K-12, giving you the option of teaching or coaching at the elementary, middle school, or high school level.

You will receive certification from the Association of Christian Schools International to teach Health and Physical Education in grades K-12. You will also be eligible to apply for Pennsylvania state certification, which will allow you to teach in public schools. The state of Pennsylvania shares certification reciprocity with many other states, most likely enabling you to teach in the state of your choice.

Many graduates go further with master’s and doctorate degrees. Some have chosen to pursue their graduate studies BBC's Master of Education program. Other graduates have attended various graduate schools to study a wide range of programs including curriculum and instruction, counseling, and administration.
