Teaching, discipling, and leading God’s people is an incredible privilege requiring the best preparation possible. You need an excellent education to equip you to be an effective Christian leader.
There is no better place to prepare for this calling than at Baptist Bible College.
Along with evangelism, outreach, counseling, and preaching, church leaders have a God-given responsibility to educate and equip their people. They are called to help grow their people’s relationship with Christ and their abilities to serve others.

"I appreciated how BBC intentionally thought through spiritual formation and fostered a dorm life that builds community. I enjoyed the discussions that surrounded chapel and the classroom."

Core courses
We give you a strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through a required set of General Studies courses and 42 hours of Bible and theology courses. These foundational requirements will equip you with a thoroughly integrated and informed biblical worldview that will enable you to better consider and engage the world in which you will minister.
You will then build on this foundation with 40 credit hours studying the specific disciplines of your field and determining how you can best apply your unique strengths, gifts, and abilities. The core courses of this program include the following:
Christian Education Seminar
Christian Education Specialization Electives
Dynamics of Discipleship
Educational Ministries of the Church
Effective Bible Teaching
Family Life of the Ministry Leader
Foundations of Ministry Leadership
Personal Life of the Ministry Leader
Youth Ministry Philosophy
Making the program your own
Young and old, men and women, saved and unsaved – you will be trained to meet the needs of such diverse groups of people in the local church. Through rigorous class work, hands-on experience, and a deeply committed faculty, the program produces leaders who can confidently guide, direct, and equip others in the discipleship process.
A holistic approach to the program means you will emerge as a well rounded leader with a greater depth of experience in and understanding of all aspects of ministry leadership.
Many options after graduation
You will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Education Pastor. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Education Pastor. You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.
Your solid theological and biblical foundation allows you to immediately step into full-time ministry roles in the church. You will be qualified to fill many pastoral roles including Christian Education, Discipleship, Small Groups, Children’s Ministries, and Associate Pastor.
The academic rigors of the program will prepare you for the demands of seminary coursework. Many graduates have pursued higher education at Baptist Bible Seminary, where the M.Div., degree offers a program in Church Education. Other graduates have attended schools such as Dallas Theological Seminary, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
What they say
“My time at BBC has challenged me to do everything with excellence. This challenge has extended into all areas of life and is continuing to drive me to become the church leader God has designed me to be. The program really prepares the student to disciple the body of Christ. The faculty pours all they have into students and go above and beyond what is required or expected of them. I believe that when you’re looking for a school to prepare you for full time ministry the school must teach that the Bible takes priority and that the people must practice what they teach. I’m convinced BBC is doing these things and that God is being glorified.”
- Brian Wilbert, BBC student
“At BBC, I was prepared for full-time ministry through practical instruction and the example of the faculty. I learned how to create ministries that meet people’s needs and how to create lessons that gained involvement, taught Scriptural truth, and brought about conviction for change. The biggest strength of the program is the faculty. You really get a chance to see their heart for ministry and to learn from their experience and ideas. The faculty at BBC impacted my life greatly.”
- Eric Fry, BBC graduate, Associate Pastor at Bible Baptist Church, Huntington, IN
