Specialized Ministries
 |
At Baptist Bible College, we recognize that many students desire to incorporate knowledge, skills, and experience from various fields in their pursuit of passionate ministry for Christ. The Specialized Ministries program offers students the flexibility to create a specialized program of study that is tailor-made for their unique ministry calling. Students are guided by highly qualified academic advisors who specialize in the student’s ministry focus.
This program is especially effective for students who desire a very specific area of ministry, such as cross-cultural youth ministry. The program is also ideal for students who are transferring to BBC or seeking degree completion before going on to seminary or graduate school. |

Core Courses in the Specialized Ministries Program
BBC gives you a strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through 42 hours of Bible and theology courses. A required set of General Studies courses supplement that foundation by enabling you to consider the world in which you will minister. The remaining 33 credit hours are available for creating a specialized program of study. The following list provides just a sample of the courses that students in this program may choose to complete their program of study.
- Youth Ministry Strategies
- Youth Evangelism
- Family Life of the Ministry Leader
- Women in Christian Ministries
- Marriage and Family Dynamics
- Cross-cultural Communication
- Missions Seminar
- Cross-cultural Evangelism
- Internship
What Happens After Graduation?
Upon completion of the program, graduates will have completed the coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Specialized Ministries and will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Bible.
Concentrated classroom instruction, faculty mentorship, internship opportunities, and hands-on ministry experience prepare students of this program for a wide range of post-graduate possibilities.
Graduates are highly qualified for seminary and graduate school programs. Full-time ministry opportunities are available in a vast number of fields around the world, so no matter what concentration you choose, you will be ready to step into a full-time ministry role upon graduation. Past graduates are now serving the Lord as missionaries and pastors and in other full-time ministry positions.

Real People
“Choosing the Specialized Ministries major allowed me to develop a program that best fit God’s ministry calling on my life. The faculty developed my abilities and challenged me. I saw firsthand how they care for their students and equip them to succeed in ministry. My internship was a life changing experience. I was able to put what I learned in the classroom to use on the field. I learned so much!”

“Through the Specialized Ministries program, I was able to be greatly involved in a local church and get credits for the work that I did. The program allowed me to study with a professor to hone my skills and also work alongside a pastor to learn what takes place in the local church.”
—Phil Maxwell, BBC graduate, Lead Pastor, First Baptist Church, St. Louis, MI |
