Health and Physical Education Program
 |
As Christians, we recognize that God created human beings to glorify Him in every way. Building healthy bodies is not only good for our physical well-being, but it’s also important for our spiritual well-being.
If God is leading you to help students meet both their physical and spiritual needs, then the Health & Physical Education program at Baptist Bible College is for you! Through our biblical perspective, we will prepare you for a career of teaching others how to properly care for the physical bodies God gave them.
This program will stretch you mentally and help you improve your physical abilities. As you prepare for a ministry and career in health and physical education, you will also have the opportunity to grow in your knowledge of the Lord and His Word. God can use your talents and interests in more ways than you can imagine, and BBC wants to help you prepare for an exciting future of serving Him.
BBC’s HPE for Me program will provide you with the opportunity to teach and interact with children of all ages. The program allows children who are home schooled to participate in a weekly physical education class taught and supervised by BBC’s Health & Physical Education students. In addition to this experience, you will gain knowledge through classroom aiding, observing, and student teaching.

What Happens After Graduation?
Upon completion of the program, graduates will have completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Physical Education and will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Bible.
The Health & Physical Education program encompasses Grades K-12, giving you the option of teaching or coaching at the elementary, junior high, or senior high level.
You will receive certification from the Association of Christian Schools International, and you will be eligible to apply for Pennsylvania state certification, which will allow you to teach in public schools.
The state of Pennsylvania shares certification reciprocity with nearly every state, so you will mostly likely be able to teach or coach in the state of your choice .
In addition to classroom teaching, this program will prepare you for positions in sports management and physical therapy.
The Health and Physical Education program also prepares graduates for the next step in their academic careers. Many graduates pursue master’s and doctorate degrees immediately following graduation or shortly thereafter. Some graduates have chosen to pursue their studies in one of seven programs offered in Christian School Education at Baptist Bible Graduate School. Other graduates have attended various graduate schools to study a wide range of educational programs including Administration and Curriculum & Instruction.
