Math Education Program
Core Courses in the Math Education Program
BBC gives you that strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through 36 hours of Bible and theology courses. A required set of General Studies courses supplements that foundation and enables you to consider the world in which you will minister.
You will then build upon that with 35 credit hours studying deeper math disciplines and determining how you can best apply your unique strengths, gifts, and abilities. The core math courses in the program include:
Calculus I - IV College Geometry Discrete Mathematics Linear Algebra Mathematics Seminar Number Theory Probability and Statistics Real Analysis What Happens After Graduation?
You will receive certification from the Association of Christian Schools International to teach math in Grades 7 – 12. BBC’s programs are accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19104, 215.662.5606) and the Association of Biblical Higher Education. We are now pursuing state certification for the new Math Education Program. When granted, you would be eligible to apply for Pennsylvania state certification, which will allow you to teach in public schools. The state shares certification reciprocity with nearly every state, so you will most likely be able to teach in the state of your choice. The Math Education Program also prepares graduates for the next step in their academic careers. Upon completion, you will be prepared to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees, including studies in the Christian School Education program at Baptist Bible Graduate School.
