Teacher Education Do you desire to shape the academic, social, and personal development of young people? Schools hire teachers who know their subject matter and are able to communicate with their students.
The purpose of the Teacher Education Department at BBC is to develop graduates who will be caring and effective in the classroom.
Core Courses for the Teacher Education Programs
Benefits of the Program Each Bachelor of Science degree leads to certification by the Association of Christian Schools International, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania currently has certification reciprocity with forty-four states, which means you will most likely be able to teach where you want.
Graduates of the Teacher Education program earn the equivalent of a double major in both Bible and their chosen program.
Requirements of the Program Students must earn a 3.0 GPA and have completed forty-eight credits in general education classes before enrolling in an education program.
Each student must complete ninety hours as a classroom aid and pass required PRAXIS tests before student teaching in both a public and a Christian school.
What Happens After Graduation? Depending on which education degree you pursue, you will be qualified to teach, aid, or substitute in a day care, pre-school, elementary school, or high school. Because BBC is a fully accredited institution, you will also be equipped to pursue a Master's degree in a more specific area of study.
