Insight Questions
1. What is your favorite book?
I love to read, so selecting a favorite is challenging. Jacque Barzun’s “From Dawn to Decadence” is a recent favorite. Barzun presents a sweeping history of Western culture from the Reformation through the late 20th century, demonstrating the development of the contemporary American “me-first” attitude.

2. What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, music, and cooking.

3. Who has been your greatest spiritual influence?
Bev Gilliland, a high school youth worker, influenced me spiritually when I was a high school student. Bev spent time discipling me individually and in a small group. She taught me that the basics, prayer and Bible study, are essential for living out the Christian life.

4. What goals do you have for your students?
I want my students to love language as a gift from God. This attitude will enable them to recognize language as a means for apprehending and communicating truth. I want them to carry the language skills and attitudes learned in the classroom to their professions and to their lives in general. Ultimately I want them to think and to live life with God-consciousness and people-awareness based upon Scripture.
