About Dr. Best:
Prior to God’s leading him to come to BBC, Dr. Best taught Mathematics and Mathematics Education courses for 20 years at various colleges and universities in upstate New York. Within the local church, he has taught in children’s ministries, conducted topical studies in adult Sunday school classes, led as Director of Youth and Adult Ministries, and served as both a trustee and a deacon.

Insight Questions
1. What is your favorite book?
Apart from the Bible and mathematics books, my favorite is usually the one I am currently reading. At this time it is “The Reason For God” by Timothy Keller.

2. What are your hobbies?
Reading.

3. Who has been your greatest spiritual influence?
I would say that my greatest (living) spiritual influence has been Bob Thebert. He is the teacher of a Bible study I attended for three years before moving to Clarks Summit. Other influences would be C.S. Lewis, Leonhard Euler, and Isaac Newton.

4. What goals do you have for your students?
I want them to understand that mathematics is another aspect of God’s creation and as such it reveals aspects of God’s character and can be used to glorify Him.
