February 2014 Update

Dear Friends,
Have you heard the story of the famine in the land of Judah? The church at Jerusalem was hurting. Throughout the churches of Asia Minor, believers decided to provide a benevolent offering. Paul writes: For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord, begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints, and this, not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God. (2 Co 8:3–5). We are honored and blessed to have you as a faithful friend and partner. We do not take this relationship lightly. Every gift you send means so much. Whenever there was a need, God has always supplied it through our partnership.
Recently, we received some distressing news. One of our supporting churches needed to cut back their missions budget. Every missionary was affected. Additionally, one individual supporter (losing their job) has indicated that they will not be able to continue their support of our ministry in 2014. These cuts put our account in a deficit of $500 per month and it is ABWE policy that we are not cleared until we are at 100%
We need to be back in Cambodia in April. We have an intern coming on May 30 and need to prepare for his arrival. Our team is also small, and has been working without us for this year of furlough.
Some of you are already committed to supporting our ministry (for which we are grateful), could you possibly increase your gift to make up this difference? Others, already give regularly, but have never indicated to ABWE that you are committed to giving. By telling them of your intentions, this allows them to bring that over into our support needs. And to those who support us in prayer, but have never given to the financial need, would you consider making a strategic investment in the lives of the Cambodian people and in helping Cambodian pastors be more effective in ministry?
Please understand our hearts in this matter. Since 2002, when we began this ministry of faith, we have only sent this type of letter twice, and only in times of great need. We know that many will not be able to help further. We consider it an honor and a privileged to be your ministry partners in Southeast Asia. Together we are stronger because “three cords are not easily broken.”
Thank you again for your faithful support. Pray with us that the Lord provide the needed funds in the coming days so that we can get back to the field that is “white unto harvest”. We will keep you informed as the Lord provides the needed funds. We will wait on Him to see how He will accomplish this, because…
We serve a Great God!

P.S. ABWE makes it very easy to give. I have attached the form that you need as well as the address for any who are interested. Thanks again for any help that you can give.
