October 6 Update

Dear Faithful Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf during the past week.
We had great services today with good attendances in both services and a number of visitors. Pray for Carlos and for Mario and Felisa. I was not able to discern in talking to them what their spiritual needs might be, but please pray that we would have additional opportunities to minister to them. Also pray for Rita who attended the Bible study of theTai Kwondo gym last night for the first time. We shared the gospel clearly. Pray that the Holy Spirit would bring conviction to her heart.
You have prayed with us for many months for baby Valentino y for his mother Ruth Noemi. After spending the first 9 months of his life in the Children´s hospital, he was released to go home this week! Ruth lives near our church, so please pray that she will continue to attend our church in the days ahead.
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to receive a construction team on October 19. There are always last minute details to take care of, and making sure that materials arrive at the appropriate time! Pray for the group from Flint, Michigan as they prepare to travel on October 18.
October 20 is Mother´s Day here in Argentina. We will have our annual Mother´s Day Tea on that Sunday. Please pray that our mothers would be appropriately honored on that day and also that many visitors would attend. Please pray for the salvation of souls as we preach the gospel.
We will travel to Uruguay this week to participate in the Fundamental Baptist Pastors Conference there. Please pray for a safe trip and for a time of spiritual refreshment.
Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf.

October 14 Update

Dear Faithful Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf during the past week.
We had great services yesterday with good attendances in both services and a number of visitors. Mario and Felisa had visited last week, and returned to our services again yesterday. Sergio and his wife attended our evening service for the first time. They have some kind of church background. Please pray that God would give us discernment and wisdom as we seek to minister to them. Daniel also attended for the first time. He was invited by Allen and Sasha who were recently saved. Please pray for the salvation of Daniel.
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to receive a construction team this Saturday. Please continue to pray for the group from Flint, Michigan as they prepare to travel on October 18. They will be working on our building in Vicente Lopez and will also be ministering to our people on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Please pray that God would use them in the lives of our people.
October 20 is Mother´s Day here in Argentina. We will have our annual Mother´s Day Tea on that Sunday. Please pray that our mothers would be appropriately honored on that day and also that many visitors would attend. Please pray for the salvation of souls as we preach the gospel.
We traveled safely to Uruguay this week to participate in the Fundamental Baptist Pastors Conference there. Thank you for your prayers. We were encouraged by the possible formation of a Bible College in Uruguay. We might have some small participation in that, as they are just across the river from us. That would be a great step forward for the work of God in Uruguay.
Speaking of Uruguay, you might enjoy this recent conversation from our Children´s Church. We have a Uruguayan family that attends our church and their little boy is in our Children´s Church. The Children´s Church leader said to him, “You are behaving badly, please behave as a Christian should.” His response: “I am not a Christian . . . I am a Uruguayan!” Thankfully I know some folks across the river who are both Uruguayan and Christian!
Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf.

10/21 Update

Dear Faithful Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf during the past week.
Yesterday was Mothers Day here in Argentina and we enjoyed great services both in the morning and evening. In the morning we had a Mother´s Day breakfast and in the evening a Ladies Tea. We had good attendances in both services and a number of mothers attended our services for the first time. Allen and Sasha´s mom came in the evening. Please pray for several unsaved mothers who heard the gospel for the first time.
We were also accompanied in our services by the construction team from South Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan. Pastor Scott Snyder preached in both services, and members of the team shared testimonies of salvation.
Thank you for praying for the safe arrival of the construction team from Flint, Michigan. They arrived without incident on Saturday morning. Later that day, the pastor preached to our youth group and then to our college and career group. This morning we began construction on the church building in Vicente Lopez. This team hopes to put the finishing touches on the building, so that it will be ready to house the the church-plant in Vicente Lopez. Please be praying throughout this week for this team as they labor with us for the glory of God – for protection, progress and great fellowship in the work of the Lord!
On November 9 – 10 we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of our church in Don Torcuato. During those 30 years we have had the privilege of planting 3 daughter churches, of recently initiating a fourth church plant, and of assisting in the planting of 2 others. Pray that this 30th anniversary would be a time of thanking God for His grace and His blessing upon us, and of renewing the vision of fulfilling the Great Commission and planting daughter churches that can reach their communities for Christ.
Thank you for your faithful prayers on our behalf.
