October 2013 Update
Sue Lodico (1983)
Dear Friends and Family,
It is hard to believe that it is the middle of September already. The fall is one of my fa-vorite times of year as the leaves start to change their color, the smell of apple cider and cool crisp evenings.
I can’t believe that my last prayer letter was in April. I am WAY over due to get this in the mail to you. Let me catch you up on what has been happening this side of the Big Pond (aka The Atlantic Ocean).
The move from Ballito to Yellowwood Park which was mentioned in my last prayer letter went very well….seems that I did not have any furniture to move (I was renting a fully fur-nished apartment in Ballito). I was able to do some shopping to outfit my home.
One week after the move, I was driving to a Young Adults Bible study and hit a cement curb that was dividing the highway and to-taled my car. I was able to rent a car while I was waiting for the insurance company to sort out all of the details.
April also found me getting involved with a Ladies Prayer Group, the Young Adult Bible study and also helping out with the youth at
Crossroads Community for Christ.
I was asked by the ladies at the prayer meet-ing to lead a Bible study for them. I am excit-ed about this new ministry opportunity. I know it will keep me in the Word as I prepare weekly. Right now we are going through Dr. David Jeremiah’s book entitled The Signs of Life.
God also gave me the opportunity to run the kid’s program for a sister church’s family re-treat. I was in charge of 13 children between the ages 3-11.
Finally after a month, I was able to purchase another car. God graciously supplied the funds through the insurance policy and a supporting church. I purchased a 2012 Chevy Sonic.
I was asked to put together a fellowship get together for the missionary ladies and the pastor’s wives for our fellowship. We had a “Lotta Fellowship High Tea” at a little B&B in Ballito. We had 12 in attendance and all en-joyed themselves and asked when the next one would be.

Also in June, the youth and youth adults from Crossroads ran the service one Sunday morning. They worked for a few weeks on the special songs, and dramatic readings. They did a great job and God was glorified.
Holiday Bible Club (our VBS) took place the last week of June. It was a huge success and God gave us more kids than we planned for. I was privileged to teach the teenage Bible class. We averaged between 10-12 young people between the ages of 14-17.
The first week of July I had the privilege of help-ing with another HBC in Salt Rock. I was the main Bible teacher for 212 kids. I was able to share the gospel with them every day for five days. We handed out 60 Bibles to kids who prayed to receive Christ as Savior. To God Be the Glory!!
I have to share this story with you, one little girl came up to me at the end of class and said, “Miss Sue, I want to give my life to Jesus!!” I led her to our counseling room where I talked with her. I asked her, “Why do you want to do something like…..give your life to Jesus?” She looked at me and said, “I want to give my life to Jesus because He gave His life for me!!” I said, “My dear, I be-lieve you have listened well and truly under-stand.” She was one of the 60. PTL!!!
With the departure of my colleagues for furlough, I picked up more responsibilities at Crossroads. I began leading the young adult Bible study and the youth group.
Praise the Lord, I was able to get away for a few days at the end of the month for a little R&R.
The second Saturday of every month is a Ladies Tea for the ladies at Crossroads. With August 9th being a holiday (Ladies Day) the ladies treated
themselves to a Day of Pampering. We went to a local spa. We had 15 ladies attend the event. We also went out to lunch together.
Please pray for the Ladies Bible study, the young adult Bible study and for the youth group.
Pray that I will remain faithful to study and pre-pare for these studies.
Pray for Pastor Dennis, the pastor of Crossroads Community. He is a bi-vocational pastor and has been struggling with his health and stress from his other job. Crossroads cannot afford to sup-port him full time although his desire is to be in ministry full time.
Thank you for your faithful prayer and financial support of the ministry here in South Africa.
