ALUMNI PRAISE AND PRAYER

March 2013 Update

Jonathan & Sarah Weber  (2004)

Greetings!

We are excitedly awaiting the actual arrival of Spring and all the new life that is commonly associated with this time of year. The days are getting longer and the spring flowers in our garden are starting to burst forth in a triumphant statement of the beauty of God's creation.

We are grateful that God has been and continues to be at work in the New Hope Evangelical Church. We are grateful for your continued prayer for this body of Christ followers who are seeking to burst forth in a triumphant statement of God's saving and sanctifying work in their lives.

Let us share a bit of how we have seen God at work during the transition from Nieuwerkerken to Zoutleeuw...

Blessings From Above:

Last service in Nieuwerkerken on Feb 24th: The church family held their last worship service in the rented facilities at the school in Nieuwerkerken on Sunday, Feb 24th. It was a bittersweet day as we worshipped the Lord with thankful hearts-thankful for all the memories of years of meeting in the school building and thankful for the provision of a new meeting place in Zoutleeuw. After the service we enjoyed one last special reception to savor the moment!

Church supplies in storage until September: With the help of many, we were able to get all our supplies moved out of the school building and into storage. We are grateful for the many chairs, tables and such school supplies that we received from the school-these will really help us do ministry in our new property. We are very grateful for all who helped!

First service in Zoutleeuw on March 3rd: The church family held its first church service in Zoutleeuw on Sunday, March 3rd. It is a great blessing to be able to meet in the Catechism Hall in the center of Zoutleeuw just across the street from the building that we will be renting in September. People can start to get adjusted to coming to services in Zoutleeuw and we can start being a light as a church in Zoutleeuw. Since we can only use this building on Sunday mornings, it does mean that we must set up everything at 8 AM in order to have church at 10 AM so that we can pack everything back up after the service and be ready to leave by 1:30 PM. Yet in the end, we are grateful to have a place to meet!

Planning for another Resurrection Egg Hunt on March 30th: We are excited to be making plans for the 2nd edition of a Resurrection Egg Hunt that will take place at our house on Saturday, March 30th. While it doesn't look like it will be as big as last year, it will still be a great afternoon of showing Christ's love and speaking Christ's Good News to our children's friends.

Tickets for our summer trip to the USA: We are thankful to have been able to purchase plane tickets for our upcoming trip to the USA during the summer months of July & August. Now to get the schedule finalized!

'I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds." Psalm 9:1
