March 2013 Update

2013 – March Ahead

March 17, St. Patrick's Day— We've always enjoyed teaching the truth about Patrick of Ireland—that he was more of a Baptist than ever a Catholic, that he preceded Catholic's entrance into Ireland, that Patrick baptized converts and never promoted infant baptism, that he sent missionaries into Europe and saved Europe for true Christianity. Patrick was so loved in Ireland that Catholicism had to 'claim' him in order to get their foot in the door, a rather devious way to enter Ireland. Well, Syracuse is filled with many Irish Catholics (green) and many Irish Methodists (orange). At Tippery Hill, SYRACUSE, a green traffic light is on top of the orange, and the SYR 'orange-men' basketball team is popular. Our history professor once asked, "As a Baptist, what color will you wear for St. Patrick's Day?" Dr. Carter had a way of asking questions for remembrance!

Furlough Ministry – Reporting to churches continues, so Pray as we travel and minister and as we have opportunities to give words of wisdom via social media. A former student/ friend/missionary to Cambodia will be visiting us this month, so we Praise the LORD for opportunities to encourage others.

Forlough Project – Pray with us for wisdom as we research best models of refrigerators, especially when we keep seeing the light through the seal of the door; the problem is the door and not the seal, as Craig replaced the seal a couple of years ago, and I read that others have trouble with doors on this brand-frig. We don't know whether to purchase a barely-used refrigerator or a new one, but blogs are a great help. 'O&P Appliances for Kennedy' will be much appreciated.

Twin Brook Camillus Farm— update—
We are tapping 50 maple trees this winter and selling sap to a local processor of Maple Syrup. In future years, we could tap 300 or more trees. Praise that we are making 'farm contacts' in our community and progressing in our advertising.

Continue to Pray regarding the development of a Third World Farming Project that has been slowed up at the lawyer's office for far too long. We can't and won't say more until this develops.

Thank you for your continued partnership in missions and interest in us, your missionaries!
