March 2013 Update
Dave & Karen Hamrick (1994)
Dear prayer supporters,
Thank you for your faithful prayers for our family and our ministry in Cameroon. We are in the midst of major ministry changes! We closed the Learning Center in Biteng at the end of our lease in December. This created an opportunity to evaluate our ministries and the status of the ABWE Cameroon Team. We think God may be leading us out of Cameroon. We do, however, have several options on the table both in Cameroon and outside of Cameroon. At this time we are in contact with our home church, South Baptist, and our mission’s administrators for Africa.
Dave will be returning to the States on March 3 to meet with South Baptist and to explore a missionary position at ABWE. Our request is that you would pray for our discernment and our following God in the next steps of this journey. For the present, we continue to lead discipleships, Bible studies, small groups, sharing the Gospel, and teaching the Bible here in Yaounde.
Our family is doing really well. AJ and Zachary recently had the opportunity to climb the highest mountain in West/Central Africa, Mt. Cameroon, with 25 of their schoolmates/teachers. They attended the high school spiritual retreat and came home excited for what God is doing in their school community and their own lives. PTL! AJ’s high school graduation is just around the corner on June 13. Both boys are on-board for the changes up and coming for everyone. Please pray for Karen and the boys as Dave is away. Life in Cameroon is challenging and during this season, we do tend to experience many more power outages and water shortages.
Pray that we will finish this lap of the race well! We look forward to what God is doing and where we are headed. Thank you for being our ‘cheerleaders’ and continue to keep us in your prayers for our future ministries.
Serving together for His glory and by His grace,
Dave, Karen, AJ & Zac
