ALUMNI PRAISE AND PRAYER

January 2013 Update

Pedro & Stephanie Garcia  (2002)

Dear Praying Friends,

We realize that our correspondence has been quite frequent of late, but anticipate a period of "radio silence" in the near future as we travel this Friday, January 11 and will initially be disconnected while setting up our home in Iquique again. Thus we take this opportunity to write one more time and first of all, to say a sincere thank you to those who have responded with prayer, concern and financial support for our colleagues Hugo and Debora during this difficult season in their lives. Secondly, we want to continue to ask your prayers for patience, wisdom and strength as we finalize these days of packing and preparations for departure. And thirdly, after receiving the prayer update below from our colleagues Jon and Kim Spink we wanted to share it with you. They are able to describe well the current needs and pulse of the ministry in Iquique at this time, and while we are in confident expectation of what God is going to do we are also cognizant that we are truly in a spiritual battle. Please pray for a resounding victory and many souls saved and lives changed in 2013. To God be the glory for the great things He has done, and will continue to do!

Trusting in Christ,
Pedro & Stephanie

January 13 Update

Dear Praying Friends,

Just a quick note to let you know that our family arrived safe and sound (only minus one bag!) to Iquique yesterday and we could not have asked for a warmer welcome - both literally and figuratively! We praise God for our colleagues and church family who have already been such a blessing to us. Pray that we can equally be a blessing and encouragement to them. Please continue to pray for us as we have many details to check off our list, and in Chile that means going in person and waiting in long lines (in the hot summer sun!) But much more importantly, we would pass along a prayer request from our colleague Hugo Armijo as he and his wife have the opportunity to meet with several of their daughter Belen's unsaved friends on Wednesday. They are inviting them into their home for tea and their desire is to share Christ clearly with these young people who are in the midst of difficult life choices and hurting as well.

We thank God for each of you!

In Christ,
Pedro & Stephanie

PS - Iquique also welcomed us with our first tremor back home! A 5.5 shaking of the ground just a few minutes ago. So thankful that we rest our feet on the Solid Rock!
