December 2012 Update

Dear Prayer Partners,
The Pharisees always had conflict with the Lord Jesus Christ. This time they criticized Him for eating with tax-gatherers and sinners. Jesus response: “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:29-32. Jesus left the glories of heaven with God the Father to reconcile us to God. It is difficult for most of us to admit we are sinners, but until we do Jesus has nothing to offer us.
We had planned to put our home on the market April 1, 2012. A neighbor told his friends we were selling. They insisted on seeing the house in October 2011. We closed the deal in November and agreed to vacate the property by February 25th this year. We were under great pressure because we had so little time to downsize, pack up and move. We had a lot of help from friends; we never would have made it otherwise. We see the hand of God in the swift sale of the home.
We moved into the home of Mike and Julie Havener and their eight children. The winter was exceptionally mild, allowing us to start site preparation early. Most of the work was done by the six teenage boys. We were with the Haveners for five months. The site was excavated, the well drilled and the septic system ready by early spring.
In April we found a sale on new doublewide trailers. We were able to order from the factory with the options we wanted. We have a four bedroom trailer, giving us both an office. The master bedroom, bath and dining room are larger than the rooms in our split-level in Gerry. We also have a walk-in closet and a nice guest room. The trailer was delivered the last Friday of April. We were to take possession two weeks later. We did not move in until July 13th, two and a half months later. Every thing that could go wrong, went wrong.
We are still getting settled. It is hard to downsize. We have contracted with an Amish builder to put up a garage late this month. That will allow us to store some things in the garage where they belong and get rid of some more boxes.
We are in the middle of Amish country. Holmes County has the largest Amish population in the USA. We live on a small farm owned by the Haveners. We have finished the legal process of setting up trusts for our finances and health care. The Haveners will take responsibility for our care if or when we are not able to take care of ourselves.
PLEASE NOTE OUR NEWADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL.
We thought we had sent out a change of address earlier, but had not. We have missed news from some of our missionary friends and look forward to hearing from you again.
