October 2012 Update

Andy & Diane Large  (1974)

This time before you read the letter, we have 2 urgent requests for you:

1. Please pray for an opportunity Diane has to share the Gospel with 9 ladies in a Bible study tomorrow night - for God's working in their hearts, bringing them to salvation.
2. Please pray for wisdom and God's working as Andy attempts to counsel a young man whose life and marriage are in spiritual crisis.

Thank you! God bless you!

Dear Prayer Team,

We all love to see the home run swing, the crack of the ball against the bat and the ball headed to the blue sky, up, up, and out of the park. Your prayers to God have been effectual “home runners.” Thank you, our dear prayer team.

Home runs God has effectuated…
• The salvation decision of Ivan Palacios, a young man Andy had the privilege of leading to the Lord by Divine appointment after visiting the lawyer, Dr. Jose, who recently also had received the Lord.
• Diane was able to make an emergency trip to Florida for 9 days, and blessed to help our daughter-in-law, who has mononucleosis, plus help several family members in different ways. We praise the Lord for the good care her parents are receiving in the Maranatha Village Manor, and that her sister Linda is now able to live in Sebring, Florida in the same village.
• Mara, a university student who recently received Christ as Savior, has been well received by the ECC Church youth group and is being discipled by them.
• The weekly prayer time Andy has started with the men of the ECC Church is growing in number.
• A family with children in the Stilecroft Christian School has expressed interest in attending the ECC Church. This is the first family from the school expressing that desire.

The team prayer needs up to bat are…
1. Please pray for good results from our first monthly Friendship Bible Fellowship time, held Sept. 23rd – that God would work in hearts through this. The next one will be October 21st.
2. Pray for God’s continued working in the hearts of the students and families of the Stilecroft Christian School where we and other ABWE missionaries are giving the Bible classes. Most of the students do not yet know Christ as Savior and Lord.
3. We needed and found a good condition auxiliary outboard motor (30 H.P.) for the “Friend Ship” ministry boat for $1,000. Good used motors like this are very hard to find. Please pray for God’s provision for this. Our ministry fund account has a deficit at present.
4. Please pray concerning a 3-week ministry trip for Andy to Peru the beginning of December, to preach in the river villages, give counsel to the pastors and the leaders on the board of the Caballo Cocha Ministry Center, to establish goals and assist in the repair of motors. Please pray for the provision of funds for this trip.
5. Pray for wisdom and God’s leading in the start of the “Friend Ship” boat ministry, to result in lives won by Christ and disciple in His Word.

We are so grateful for your faithful, effectual prayers for the Lord’s work and us, your fellow prayer teammates! Please let us know how we can be praying more specifically for you!

Love in Christ,
Andy and Diane Large

October 5 Update

To all of those who prayed about the opportunity to present the Gospel to the ladies on Tuesday night, thank you so much for praying! God is doing a marvelous work in these ladies' lives, and 4 of them were to the point of desiring to ask Christ to be their Savior and LORD, and they did so with weeping and tears Tuesday evening during the Bible study. Also one of the 3rd grade boys received the Lord during our Stilecroft Bible classes this morning! Rejoice with us over these lost sheep that have been brought into God's fold, and please pray that God will continue the mighty work He's doing in their lives!

Serving the Risen Lord and Savior,
Andy and Diane Large
