ALUMNI PRAISE AND PRAYER

October 2012 Update

Doug & Cheryl Boisvert  (1982)

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1).

Many times on our latest trip the Lord brought Psalm 91 to our minds. In very real ways, God demonstrated the truths of this psalm and sheltered us from potential harm so that we could carry on our work without distraction. As God was graciously caring for our circumstances, we were free just to teach His Word in perfect peace. Following is Cheryl’s paraphrase of Psalm 91, recalling the August and September teaching modules in Uganda, West Kenya, and Tanzania.

Psalm 91— African Style - by Cheryl Boisvert

As we placed ourselves in the shelter of the Most High,
We rested in the shadow of the Almighty.
We said to the Lord, “You are our refuge and our fortress,
Our God in whom we trust.”
He has delivered us from the venom of the militant Muslim protests across the “10-40 Window,”
even as He called others to pray about this on our behalf.
He has covered us with His feathers
and has kept us snug under His wings.
His love and faithfulness are like a wide-spectrum vaccination,
so we have been able to trust and rest.
Therefore, we did not fear the unfamiliar sounds
and the malaria that stalks by night.
We trusted and ate the food
prepared for us by women with typhoid and worms.
We chose to trust Your timing,
even though Entebbe had experienced some cases of ebola.
A thousand may fall by our side, and 10,000 at our right hand,
but Your mercy is bringing us home healthy.
We have seen the degradation of the lives of the wicked,
and the elevation of a life in Christ.
Because the loving, loyal, covenant-keeping God is our Refuge,
no evil was allowed to befall us.

The Lord unexpectedly prepared Pastor Robert to act as a guardian angel, accompanying us on an 11-hour bus ride across Tanzania,
making certain that the ladies’ tent did not collapse, assisting Doug in translation, grading papers written in Swahili, and seeing us safely back to our guest house in the evening.

God controlled our circumstances because we were so utterly dependent upon Him. He answered our prayers because we know His Name and graciously bestowed upon us an unexpected honor as we were returning home.

He has allowed us to serve Him with all our inadequacies, flaws, and limitations, granting us salvation and continuous satisfaction all of the days of our lives!

OVERVIEW
Because God was doing all that, we were able to see the first Certificate-level Graduation at Bukeeka Evangelical School of Theology in Uganda. A new Study Bible and a resource book were presented to each graduate. (Many thanks to those of you who contributed .the graduation gowns!) In West Kenya, we were there for the official announcement of the beginning of Christ Army Mobile School of Ministry (picture above). In Arusha, Tanzania, we pressed on with the training there, and we also began a new venue in Turiani (Tanzania) for those who have had very limited ministry training available.

SOME STATISTICS
Cheryl and I taught a total of 69 men and 75 women this trip, gave seven Bibles to women who had none, and ran out of eyeglasses to give out. We were hosted by the coordinating pastor in his mud home that some of you assisted in making possible, and we gave great joy to two, young Ugandan sisters with a gift of baby dolls from two sisters in Springville, Pennsylvania. We also were able to distribute two suitcases of books for pastors’ libraries.
We trust that we have represented you in a way that both honors God and warrants your support. Many of your prayers for us received answers last month, and we sincerely appreciate all of you! In each module, students requested that we extend their greetings and thanks for being part of God’s work in their lives through this ministry of Bible teaching and training.

Join us in PRAYER for
• The newest venue in Turiani, Tanzania. Great beginnings, but still needing many details to be worked out for their own training program to surface there.
• Wisdom in following up new invitations in Tanzania and South Sudan.
• God’s overseeing of Doug and Cheryl as they write new courses requested for future modules.

Join us in PRAISES for
• Praise God for all His handiwork in the teaching and lives of all involved this trip.
• Thanks to God for providing translators, especially for the women’s teaching modules.

October 19 Update

Dear Praying friends,

I have shared this information with some Churches this year but many heard it referred to only as a future possibility. Others heard through our prayer letter and still wondering if it was active. After fixing a few glitches it is now fully operational and we would like to be sure everyone hears about this opportunity. If it is old information for you, we are sorry to crowd your inbox. Please forgive us. If this is new to you, thank you for your attention to this information.

Below you will find a card that explain a way to support God's ministry of TRI-M Africa through your normal purchases. We had this opportunity in years past but our web site was debunked wit the collapse of EBM and we lost this. NOW we have a dear saint that got us a new website & has added the same link. The sheet is mainly for Churches if they desire to promote this or for you if your choose to, as individuals, pass the information on to others for us.

A Quick review of this opportunity....

If you desire to purchase on line through Amazon.com and instead FIRST go to our web site tri-m-boisverts.org to click on the link for Amazon.com... we get from Amazon.com about 6% of the purchase made and the best part is that this happens automatically without adding anything to your costs! Yes they give us the advertising fee for bringing you to them. We have begun to share this through our updates to our supporting Churches already. But with many of you we did not have this established until after we were there with you earlier this year and last year. So we hope somehow you might get word out for us about this way to fund God's work without any extra cost on your part. Just one extra step of linking to them through our website.

I am sending this to both supporting Churches and individuals. However, you could be a great help, by checking with your Church secretary to see if it was received. Then if you could ask if it could be promoted somehow with the Church family. The Holiday season is coming up and it is a good time to get the word out before the shopping rush. Thanks for considering this.

Again hope this does not sound to much like an info-mercial. But I have had a number of inquiries that seem to make it easiest to put this out as a general email to all. Any questions or problem give me a call on our now primary number of 765-398-0342. I trust you received the notice of us disconnecting our land line 30 October 2012. God Bless!
