ALUMNI PRAISE AND PRAYER

October 2012 Update

Ed & Dorothy Woods  (1971)

Dear Co-workers:
“The Lord has done great things for us, whereof we are glad.” His goodness and faithfulness have been evident in so many ways these past weeks. Thank YOU for upholding us in prayer as we’ve traveled this road to recovery.
Catch-up: Ed is about 90% able to do physically what he would like, for which we rejoice. All medical bills have been paid! Praise the Lord!
*God enabled us to attend 2 conferences in PA this summer, as well as our CBM week in Iowa.
*We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary, and Ed preached at the 40th anniversary of Winslow Baptist Church, our first church plant. (Pastor Nigel Black and family )
* God blessed with a good garden and lots of veggies to freeze, can, and share.
*Our family had a very special time together making memories.

Classes: “Some sow, others water, but God gives the increase.” Opportunities abound!
*Several students have returned to China, but new ones are coming, including some with young children. Our church family is very warm and welcoming to these “strangers in our midst.”
*Our Kazakh friends have returned and hosted us for lunch recently, so the relationship continues.
*CJ and others who are back home are in need of fellowship and spiritual growth. Some are very lonely in this regard.

Concerns (in addition to the above):”Children are an heritage from the Lord.”
*By the time you read this, our new granddaughter should have arrived, bringing new experiences to big brother Antonio. We’re planning to be in Rhode Island awhile to help with the adjustments.
*From Deb’s, we’re scheduled to speak in northern New Hampshire at a supporting church. Other meetings are still to be rescheduled after our spring detour.
*It’s our hope that we’ll be able to spend some time with Dave and Laura before his next overseas
deployment in late fall. Pray for ALL of our troops.
*Jon’s son Brendan (4) is still waiting for an appointment with a specialist trained in a specific test his pediatric gastroenterologist wants him to have. Finding no answers is frustrating.

God continues to do great things for us, and we continue to be glad.
In His love,

Ed and Dorothy Woods
