October 2012 Update

Jane Schmitz  (1983)

Dear Prayer Partners,

Summer has gone by quite fast for me and I wanted to update you on a few things and ask for prayer.

Joan, my sister and I had a wonderful and safe trip to Canada. It was great to see old teammates and see the Credo church plant in Quebec City. The church is doing well and there are a number of Spanish speakers that are part of the church now. Many of them need to learn French. I was also encouraged to hear of the number of men that want to be mentored for ministry. I had a meal with both believing and non-believing friends there and it was a special moment of reconnection and even talking about spiritual things. We also made a big trip to Prince Edward Island and visited most of that area.

At my home church, the summer book club and teaching through the Story of Hope went very well, too.

I am visiting many of my supporting churches and that is going well. I will be giving a devotional for women that includes believers and non believers on October 6th and would appreciate your prayers as I prepare what to say. This is an outreach through one of my supporting churches.

I have also started the Story of Hope Bible study with an old friend. Pray for Ceil to understand that salvation is through Christ alone. I hope we can complete the study before I leave.

I am thankful for all of you who pray for me and I am grateful for the many ways the Lord takes care of me while here on furlough. Thanks to so many of you that have been an encouragement to me.

Pray for God’s wisdom as I look to Him for direction now and in my future. God bless.
