ALUMNI PRAISE AND PRAYER

July 2012 Update

Paul & Elaine Kintner  (1965)

Dear Prayer Partners,

We have much for which to praise the Lord for His goodness and wonderful works to the children of men.

In our June-July letter we asked for special prayer for the summer activities, some of which are still future, but others have been fulfilled, and we want to share the blessings with you. Your prayers and support have been vital to the Lord’s work, and credited to your account (Phillipians 4:17).

Vacation Bible School was held June 25-29, with an average of 71 children, and 18 teachers and helpers. Over 40 professions of faith were recorded by the teachers, and of course, we pray that the children understood and were sincere. The teachers and helpers were excellent, and blessed by the results. The weather cooperated until the last day when the temperature exceeded 100 degrees, which limited any outdoor activities. Continue to pray for the children who come from homes where the parents are ungodly. We want to reach the parents also.

To our e-mail contacts, we communicated a couple weeks ago that the man from our church, Isaac, for whom many have prayed over the last year, was approved for a resident visa to return to the States with his family. Isaac returned to Mexico last August filing for “pardon” for illegal entry, and requesting a resident visa to reside here legally with his family. Friday, July 20th he arrived here in North Carolina to reunite with his family. The entire church family joined them that evening for a time of thanksgiving and celebration. Isaac is a deacon, church treasurer, and has agreed to be the young peoples’ Sunday School teacher as of August.

We request prayer for two people in our church who will be presenting application for permits to remain and work in the States, having arrived here without documents as children. One of them was brought by his parents when he was 3 months old, (now 17 years old) and the other when she was fifteen, (now late 20’s).

The church is adjusting well to their new pastor with the members assuming more responsibility each week. July 25th the pastor conducted his first session of members, and the response was good. Along with caring for some legal matters pertaining to the leadership of the church, they decided to purchase two A/C-Heat window units for two classrooms frequently used during the week, to eliminate the need to heat the entire wing of the church with central heat. The cost is about $1,000. A special offering of $1,000 was received the week before from a person unknown to the church.

When you receive this letter we will be in Ankeny, IA attending the bi-annual North American Field Conference of BMM. Pray for guidance as we work together with our team, and also for safe travel, over 1,000 miles each way. We plan to visit some friends while we are out in Iowa.

Pray also for Paul’s trip and ministry to Peru, August 31-September 10th. The tickets have been purchased, but the account is low! Pray as he prepares the messages for the National Mission Conference.
May God richly bless you.

In His service,
Paul & Elaine
