July 2012 Update

Catching up...
The last time you heard from us we had just arrived in the U.S. for a two month visit. We were blessed to have many opportunities to share with churches and individuals what God is doing in us and through us here in Perugia. And, as incredible as it seems, we have already been back in Italy for two months now. Thankfully, life has been slowing down a bit (as things tend to do in Italy during the summer), and we are now able to catch up on some administrative work and projects before a new year of ministry begins in September.
We are thankful that our daughters Cristina and Elisa have been doing well health-wise. Please pray for wisdom for us as we seek to teach them the ways of God.
Our co-workers Jonathan and Melodee Whitman are currently in the U.S. on furlough; in their absence we are overseeing the youth ministry. Please pray for us as we take on this new responsibility. Also, please pray for the unsaved husband of one of our members; Daniel has begun doing an evangelistic Bible study with him.
Growth
On our first Sunday back (June 3rd) ten people were baptized at Centro Evangelico Battista, including a young woman that Elizabeth is discipling. This was a great testimony to the almost 250 in attendance, many not believers.
License
Daniel is feeling a little bit more Italian now that he finally has his Italian driver's license (the process was neither short nor simple). Elizabeth is studying for her driver's test which she hopes to take in about a month.
Coming up...
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we are heading to Sicily for a youth conference. Please pray for our Italian pastor Lucio as he will be speaking, for Danel as he will be translating, and pray for us (Daniel and Elizabeth) as we spend time with the two young ladies from our church who will be attending the conference. Please pray that it will be a time of spiritual growth for all who attend.
One last thing... Elizabeth's Dad (Fred Whitman) is putting together his fourth (and possibly final) Italian Christian History Tour, which will be held October 1-12, 2012.
