February 2012 Update
Roy & Nancy Jones (1976)
Greetings from New Jersey, February 1, 2012
This update is coming to you from our son’s house in New Jersey. We arrived here safely on January 16 and are enjoying some special days with Brian, Melody, Owen, Elise, Jay and Silas. We hadn’t met Silas yet so it has been fun to be with all of them. We will be in the US until July 25 as we travel first on the East Coast, then to Ohio, to California and then back to Ohio and New Jersey again before returning to Spain. Since we have 25 supporting churches in seven states and many individual supporters, we have a lot of traveling ahead of us.
In our last update, we asked you to pray for the Christmas program in Coslada on December 23. We are happy to tell you that it was a success. The kids did a great job and the gospel was preached. You can see more photos on our website. Julio and Maria went with us and brought their grandchildren. Mari, our daughter-in-law, invited her sisters to come and, much to our surprise, they came with their children. There were several unbelievers present. We are thankful for the opportunities we have to share the true meaning of Christmas. It was also an opportunity to have many of our friends from Campo Real in our home. We continue to pray that God will work in their hearts. It was hard to say good-bye as we left for our furlough.
Before we left, Roy again taught his course at SEFOVAN seminary. The course is called “Balancing the Christian Life”. This time there was a week-long night course and then an all-day Saturday course. It was a challenge to condense 24 hours of class notes into 10 hours and then into 6 hours. We’re thankful for this opportunity to have an input in the lives of these believers as they face the challenges of living their Christian lives and serving the Lord throughout Spain.
We would ask for your prayers as we begin our furlough ministry. We have two primary projects. In order to be fully supported, we must raise $800 more a month. We will not be able to return until we are fully supported. We are grateful to one of our churches who has already raised our support. Our team members and we would also like to raise $30,000 to rent a ministry center in our new target area of Torres de la Alameda. $5,000 has already been given. If we have a place where we can invite our friends and contacts we believe this will give us greater opportunities to minister. Would you prayerfully consider if God would have you help with either of these projects? We are confident that God will provide for these needs. Thank you for your continued prayers and interest in the ministry in Spain.
In His Service,
Roy & Nancy Jones
