Greetings!

The summer days have been filled with good things from the Lord! July has been a month of getting readjusted to having Sarah back home (after a 2 week trip to the USA at the end of June) and of getting ready for a really busy August (hosting a team from the USA, attending an EBM conference and taking a family vacation in Austria).

Please join us in praising God as you read about the blessings from June/July along with some prayer requests for August and beyond.

Thank you for praying for our family as we press on to seize the opportunities that God gives us to partner with Belgians to equip Belgians to reach the world!

BLESSINGS:

Thankful for Sarah's safe trip to the USA: We praise the Lord for the opportunity that Sarah had to travel to PA, NY and OH to see family and attend her Grandma's burial/memorial service. Everyone was especially glad to get to meet Andrew! While it was a great opportunity for Sarah & Andrew to see family, supporters and friends, it is not something that Warren, Daniel & Dad will want to see happen again any time soon!

Thankful for Warren's completion of 1st grade: The Lord has blessed us with a

Daniel, Andrew & Warren (July 2010)
son that did great in his first year of grade school. He really loves to read and is doing great in both Dutch & English. His favorite class was always the 2 hour religion class on Tuesday mornings. Not only did he do great with the academics, he also demonstrated a real concern for his classmates and teachers. He continues to pray that they will soon begin to know and love Jesus.

Thankful for Sarah's involvement at Warren's school: We praise the Lord for the opportunity for Sarah to become involved with the Parent-Teacher Group. This really gave her many opportunities to serve at school and in so doing, form many great relationships with the teachers and other active parents. As the school year finished, the biggest development was Sarah's opportunity to work together with another mother to get a new program in place for next school year-the parents will be coming to school to help the teachers work on developing more respect in the students. Please pray for her as she works on this during the new school year.

Thankful for an outreach opportunity at the Zoutleeuw camp-out: We praise

Daniel admiring Nathaniel's owl
God for a unique opportunity at this years annual camp-out in Zoutleeuw. We invited a Christian man from Tienen to bring his owl to the camping event. Not only did he and his son show off their owl and share lots of great information with the parents and kids, but he also engaged people in discussion about the Creator of owls! Isn't that awesome how God worked out that neat opportunity?

Thankful for the comment "I thought so too now that I believe": We praise the Lord for giving Sarah a bit of encouragement back in June. As she talked with a friend whom she has been praying for and ministering to for a long time, she heard a statement that we still don't fully understand. As this friend explained a situation in which she nearly made a mistake but caught it in time, Sarah commented, "Maybe the Lord helped you?" To which the friend replied, "You know, I thought so too now that I believe." What does that mean? We're not completely sure yet! However, what a great encouragement to keep pressing on with outreach to friends!

Thankful for upcoming opportunity to host a team from Wisconsin Rapids,

Team from CBC in Wisconsin Rapids
WI: We praise the Lord for our sending church's investment in our ministry by sending a team of 10 people to help in various outreach opportunities in Nieuwerkerken. Preparing and planning for their coming has been a very interesting exercise. Yet, their coming has prompted more outreach than would have normally happened in the summer! We are excited to have them arrive on Friday, Aug. 6th so that they can get right to work helping with a ladies outreach on the 8th and a kids outreach on the 9th!

Thankful for opportunities to help prepare for EBM's Conference for missionaries serving in Europe: We are grateful that we can help with some organizational things related to this upcoming conference. We really feel so strongly about EBM providing such a conference so that missionary families serving in Europe will be able to gather together for physical, spiritual and emotional rest and encouragement. We are so excited to have Dr. David Culver, the new EBM president, come as speaker. His pastoral heart will encourage the missionary family while his vision for his leadership of EBM will inspire all to press on with faithful ministry in Europe. We are confident that this event is going to be a real blessing. We are also really thankful that our sending church in Wisconsin is investing in this conference by sending a team to teach the children and someone to lead the worship.

Thankful for new regular supporters: Amidst the economic hard times, it is exciting to see some new names on the list of people who regularly invest in God's work in Belgium/Europe! Thank you! Everyone who prays and gives is such a blessing and encouragement to us!
PRAYER REQUESTS:

For the Wisconsin Rapids, WI team as they prepare for their trip: Please pray for our friends from Calvary Baptist Church as they make final preparations to come to Europe. They have been working hard to prepare for both a time of ministry in Belgium (helping with outreaches, doing prayer walks, helping at church, etc...) and a time of ministry in Switzerland at the EBM conference (providing music and children's programming). Dean, Heidi, Crystal, Kayla, Kim, Naomi, Bethany, Jen, Steve and Jen are all excited to serve, yet certainly dependant upon the Lord for his blessing as they prepare to invest 2 weeks of their summer to impact Believers in Belgium and EBM missionaries serving in Europe.

For the Ladies Outreach on Sunday, Aug 8th: Please pray for God's blessing on an outreach opportunity that is focused on reaching ladies. We are excited to provide some singing, a nice dessert and a speaker that will share her testimony and challenge the ladies to consider how they can find personal peace! Please pray for our friend Kim who will be the speaker-she will only have been in Belgium for 3 days and she will have the opportunity to share her personal testimony to a group of Belgian ladies!

For the Kids Outreach on Monday, Aug 9th: Please pray for God's blessing on

Flyer advertising Aug 9th kids outreach
an outreach opportunity that is focused on reaching kids in Nieuwerkerken. We are excited to provide singing, crafts, games, snacks and best of all, a Christian puppet theater that will be sharing the Good News of the Gospel. A number of Warren's friends have already signed up to come. Now we are waiting to see how many other kids will come! We've passed out nearly 2000 flyers in Nieuwerkerken yet we have found that it is really hard for parents to send their kids to something that they don't know-that's why we are excited to have a good group of Warren's un-churched friends attending! Relationships are SOOOOO important!

For a great EBM conference: Please pray that during the upcoming conference (17-21 Aug 2010) God will be glorified, the missionaries will be strengthened and the WI team will be effective in their ministry to the missionary children.

For patience as we search for a new home: Please pray that God will provide a 4 bedroom home closer to Nieuwerkerken so that it will be easier to be involved in that community AND easier to bring Warren home each day for lunch. We pray that we will be patient until God provides the home that He has for us. Until then, we continue to enjoy living in Zoutleeuw-leaving will not be easy!

For the start of a new school year on Sept 1st: Please pray for us as we make preparations for Daniel to start his 1st year of preschool and Warren to begin his 2nd year of grade school. We are looking forward to being involved once again at Daniel's preschool (the preschool that Warren attended)! While we are not so excited about Daniel starting half days of school, this will help him with his Dutch language learning and allow us to be involved in the lives of many friends and contacts.

Thank you for praying for our family. We pray for God's will to be accomplished in and through us as we continue to partner with Belgians to equip Belgians to reach the World with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

The Weber Family (Jonathan & Sarah, Warren, Daniel & Andrew)
